The county jail as it appeared shortly before being torn down in the mid-1970s. It was on a gallows in the yard of this jail that Hill’s sentence was carried out.

Director of Nurses – Mrs. Donald Griffith is director of nurses at the new Tipton County Memorial Hospital. She is a native of Barton, Ark. and a graduate of the St. Joseph School of Nursing. She is a member of ANA. The Griffith family has lived in Covington since 1950. Mrs. Griffith has worked at Lauderdale County Hospital, Ripley Clinic and Witherington’s Clinic.
