The county jail as it appeared shortly before being torn down in the mid-1970s. It was on a gallows in the yard of this jail that Hill’s sentence was carried out. Mrs. Griffith has worked at Lauderdale County Hospital, Ripley Clinic and Witherington’s Clinic.
