Alston Cemetery is an African American cemetery. When I was looking through the Censuses for Alstons, it was very confusing as so many people were listed in a family. Often times the birth dates for parents and birth dates for a child would be fifty plus years apart!
The oldest headstone in the cemetery is that of Rev. Ruffin F Alston, Sr. The date of death is July 1, 1909. Most of the people in the cemetery are related to him.
