Cotton Cemetery is located at the end of Dyson Lane in Covington. Dyson Ln is a dead end road and is paved. The cemetery is surrounded by farm land. The GPS coordinates are 35.525057, -89.532505.

Cotton Cemetery is a medium sized cemetery with about 275 graves. The oldest grave belongs to Maggie Dyson who was the wife of L. Dyson and died on February 18, 1909, at the age of 38. The next oldest grave belongs to Rebeca Wright. She was born in 1857, and died in 1903, at the age of 45. She shares a marker with Eliza Wright who was born in 1847 and died in 1908. The next documented grave is that of Martha Flowers Adams. She was born on December 5, 1854, in Tipton County and died January 18, 1914, in Gilt Edge. She was the daughter of  Ephram Flowers and Milly Pardlow Flowers.

One of the more recent burials in the cemetery is that of Myron Delyon Cunningham. He died on December 9, 2016, and his obituary was in the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Memphis, TN – Myron Delyon Cunningham, 57, son of James and Annie C Wright Cunningham of Covington, expired at his residence December 9, 2016. In addition to his parents, he leaves his son Joshua M. Cunningham of Covington and sister Cynthia Teresa Cunningham of Memphis, two dear friends Willie Henderson, Jr and Carol Stancil, other relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, December 16 from 12-6 at Palmer Funeral Home. Service Saturday at 2:00 with the family receiving friends at 1:00 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.
