The 1850 Census Covington was the 7th United States Census. It was the third Census for Tipton County Tennessee. The census documents many of the early settlers of Covington such as R. H. Munford, James H Lauderdale, William Wiseman, R. H. Williamson, Jordan Brown, Richard Luttrell, and many others.
The 1850 Census Covington is documented on a schedule I form. The information at the top of each page reads: Free inhabitants in Covington in the County of Tipton State of Tennessee enumerated by me, on the 27th day of August 1850. R. S. Barret Ass’t Marshal. [Page 1 was recorded on August 27th. Page 5 was recorded on August 28th.]
