SECRET WEDDING | AKINS & SCHEELE — A secret wedding which surprised the many friends of the couple very much, was revealed recently with the marriage of Miss Hazel SCHEELE & Mr. J. T. AKINS, both of Covington. The marriage occurred at Marion, Ark., November 27th, the ceremony being performed by Rev. E.K. SEWELL, pastor of the Marion Methodist Church, at the parsonage. Mr. & Mrs. AKINS were attended by Mr.& Mrs. Jess HADEN. Mrs. AKINS is the daughter of Mrs. Ruth SCHEELE, of this city. She is a graduate of Byars-Hall High School of Covington and a Memphis business college. Mr. AKINS is employed at the Haden Filling Station.

James Thomas Akins was born on December 23, 1895, in Union County, Tennessee. He died on December 24, 1971, in Tipton County, Tennessee. He married Margaret Hazel Scheele on November 27, 1931, in Crittenden County, Arkansas.
Margaret Hazel Scheele was born on August 14, 1909, in Illinois and died on June 17, 1974, in Tipton County, Tennessee. Her parents were H. Diedrich and Ruth Baird “Nanny” Cooper Scheele. Diedrich was born in 1855, in Germany and died before 1920. Ruth was born on February 28, 1881, and died on September 24, 1959, in Covington, Tennessee. Diedrich and Ruth were married on April 12, 1909.
