Green Williamson Smitheal (1835-1905) was a Covington attorney who was elected major of the 51st Tennessee Infantry. He declined the honor but agreed to serve as adjutant. C. V. Channell was born on October 27, 1896, in Mississippi. He was the son of Miss. Frances Elizabeth "Frankie" RANDOLPH and Samuel A. Channell. H married Mrs. Willie Louise Johnson on May 16, 1926, in Attala, Mississippi. During their marriage, they had nine children. Mr. Channell died on January 31, 1991, in Covington, Tennessee. He was 94 years of age, and is buried in Covington Memorial Gardens.

Sallie Maud Williams was born on 20 Sep 1882 in Tipton County, Tennessee. Her father, James Franklin, was 40 years old, and her mother, Mary Ann Baucom, was 35 years old. On May 19, 1901, in Tennessee, Sallie married Hardy Harmon "Doc" Williams. They had six children during their marriage. Two of their babies died in infancy in 1906 and 1910. Their son, Russell, died at the age of six (1911-1917). The other three children are Hardy Harmon Jr., Harry Lee Sr., and Charles Owen.
