SUMERVILLE – John Cocke, 84, of the Lambert community, retired state highway department foreman, died Monday at Methodist Hospital in Memphis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home with burial in Lamb Cemetery. He was a member of Lambert United Methodist Church. He leaves his wife, Odie Creasy Cocke; six daughters, Ms. Pauline Vaughn of Stone Mountain, Ga., Mrs. Laura Price of Somerville, Mrs. Ann Holden of Bartlett, Mrs. Fay Brown of Nashville, Mrs. Jeanne Tapp of Stanton and Mrs. Becky Fowler of Somerville; three sons, Jim T. Adams and John Fletcher Cocke, both of Somerville, and Lester Adams of Bakersfield, Calif., 24 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
