MINNIE SALE BROWN HARTSFIELD WILKERSON | Minnie Sale Brown was born on January 18, 1917, in Covington, Tipton County, Tennessee to William Augustus “Billy” Brown Jr. (1893-1941) and Pattie Alice Mason Brown (1895-1987). The 1920 US Census shows the family living with William Sr., William Jr.’s father. The household members were William Sr. – head (51), William Jr. – son (26), Pattie – daughter-in-law (24), William E. – grandson (6), Audrey E. – granddaughter (4 3/12), Minnie – granddaughter (2 11/12), and Fredonia Pruitt – house keeper (49). We do not have any records until the next US Census. On the 1930 census, the family is still living in the same house together. Minnie is attending school with her brother and sister while the remaining family members are farming.
On 5 Jan 1935, in Crittenden County, Ark., Minnie marries Emmett Farris Hartsfield, Sr. The marriage lasted only a few years but, during that time, the couple had two boys – Emmett Farris Hartsfield, Jr. and Billy Sale Hartsfield. The 1940 US Census has Minnie living with her father and her two boys. The divorce was finalized in 1943.
Later, Minnie married Samuel Odis Wilkerson. Odis died on 15 Jan 2001. Minnie continued living in Covington until her death on September 1, 2007. Minnie Sale Brown Wilkerson is buried in Covington Memorial Gardens.

Covington – MINNIE SALES WILKERSON, 90, retired clerk for Roper Drug Store and was a member of Covington First United Methodist Church, passed away September 1, 2007. Visitation will be from 12-2p.m. with services to follow at 2 p.m. Monday, September 3 at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Odis Wilkerson, her son, Billy S. Hartsfield, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her son, Emmett F. Hartsfield, Jr. of Medon, TN; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to donors choice. Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home
