Location
Mt Carmel Presbyterian Church is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is in rural Tipton County near Covington, TN. The church was established in 1834 by settlers heading west and became the center of the small community called Mount Carmel.
Mt Carmel Presbyterian Church continued its operations until 2000 when it merged with First Presbyterian Church of Covington.
The church building was completed in 1854 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Also, the church began regular use for a second time in August 2016.
Movie Scenes
Finally, the church was used, in 2005, for movie called Walk the Line. Surprisingly, several locations in Tipton County were used in the movie!
